Council adopts three ordinances; establishes municipal CAP Bank

NJ SUMMIT — Summit Common Council unanimously adopts three ordinances, including a municipal CAP Bank. The council approved the measures at its March 17 meeting, including a traffic ordinance prohibiting stopping or standing on Beekman Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days, a parking ordinance increasing rates at Park & Rail Lot #14, and Ordinance 26-3376 authorizing the city to exceed budget appropriation limits. Finance Committee Chair Landman reported the city faces increased healthcare costs, unexpected snow removal expenses, and inflation, with a revenue shortfall from the delayed sale of the old firehouse site.
The council also unanimously approved emergency temporary appropriations for municipal operations and $113,615 in case management services for the homeless through Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services.
