NJ SUMMIT — Summit Common Council tabled the rebid of the former firehouse property after contract purchaser withdrawal. The Council voted 5-2, with Councilmembers Boyer and Pawlowski opposed, to delay the sale with Councilmember Lasaracina citing the need for updated appraisals before moving forward. An amendment by Boyer to prohibit large-scale data center facilities in the city's development regulations failed 5-2.
The Council approved a $350,000 donation for the East Summit Playground Project from the LaSanders Fund and authorized $78,479.37 for security cameras at Tatlock Park and Tatlock Field. Councilmember Pawlowski announced his resignation effective May 22, 2026.
