Historic Preservation Commission approves four property reviews

Historic Preservation Commission · Meeting of April 15, 2026

NJ SUMMIT — The Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved advisory reviews on four development applications across the city. The commission formally ratified its recommendations on 11-15 Beechwood Road (four-story mixed-use building in Downtown Historic District, 1897), 36 Dale Drive (two-story home replacing 1958 property), 21 West End Avenue (addition to 1961 property), and 19 Ridge Road (revised grading plan on 1910 property in North Side Historic District). All recommendations passed without opposition.

The commission also noted receipt of demolition permits for three historic properties, including Mount Olive Church at 217 Morris Avenue (1898), which has already been demolished without the commission's initial notification.
