Summit Common Council introduces eight affordable housing ordinances

NJ SUMMIT — Summit Council advances eight affordable housing and regulatory ordinances. Councilmember Crisafulli moved introduction of the eight ordinances, which the Common Council unanimously approved, creating four new affordable housing zones and amending overlay zones to require 20 percent affordable housing set-asides. The ordinances, referred to the Law Committee for March 3 hearings, also authorize closure of the Chestnut Lot and establish regulations for vacant and foreclosed properties.
Council President Claire Toth presided as the Council also unanimously approved emergency budget appropriations and authorized an $98,800 bid for Park Line Project Phase 2A.
