Summit swears in three new councilmembers, reorganizes leadership

NJ SUMMIT — Summit's Common Council held its annual organization meeting Tuesday, swearing in three newly elected councilmembers and reorganizing for 2026. Mayor Elizabeth Fagan administered the Oath of Office to Jaclyn Lasaracina (First Ward), Chantal Landman (Second Ward), and Dan Crisafulli (At-Large). The council unanimously elected Councilmember Claire Toth as Council President and Councilmember Michelle Kalmanson as President Pro Tem.
A 13-item consent agenda addressing routine organizational matters, including committee assignments, board appointments, temporary budgets for the general fund and utilities, and financial procedures, was approved 7-0.
